Pembrokeshire offers a diverse landscape for the horserider. We have wonderful sandy beaches for a good blow and networks of rural lanes for hacking, then the Preseli Hills - off road riding with spectacular views.

To enjoy your ride a little preparation is needed. Trousers are a must - preferably not with an inside seam as this may rub. You will also need a sturdy pair of shoes or boots with a heel (not wellies) and don't forget a lightweight waterproof. The stables are likely to provide you with suitable footwear and a safety hat too. When you book they will need to know your height, weight and ability, to pair you up with a suitable horse or pony. Be honest about your ability and fitness levels. It's better to underestimate your skills. Beginners, including those wishing to be led and advanced riders can usually be catered for. When you arrive for your ride ensure you arrive early. You'll need to collect hat, boots and get mounted - you may also like to help get your mount saddled up.

Beach riding is something most riders long to do and in Pembrokeshire we are blessed with over 50 beaches. The following beaches are popular with horseriders, having adequate parking and access and good riding opportunities at low tide, however, during the summer season they are very busy and it is advisable to ride in the early mornings or evenings:
